and with the crowd you run around with on blogger, i've noticed they don't like the religion-y stuff. maybe if you start to be wicked angsty and start to question everything you'll become more popular ;-)

It's true, it works for me (even though that's not actually what I intend when I comment, it is a nice benefit).
